DEANIE’S SEAFOOD RESTAURANTS AND SEAFOOD MARKET

Locally owned and operated for over six decades, we serve New Orleans’ favorite seafood dishes, best enjoyed with friends and family. In our three New Orleans restaurants and original seafood market in Bucktown near Lake Pontchartrain, all our food is made from scratch with the freshest Louisiana and Gulf seafood. We have traditional New Orleans seafood dishes – fried, broiled, and boiled – and local favorites like Barbeque Shrimp and Seafood Gumbo. Most of our menu is gluten-free, and although we’re known for our Giant Seafood Platters, Onion Rings, and Gold Brick Sundaes, we have many healthy options

BUCKTOWN LEGACY

Established in the historic fishing community of Bucktown on Lake Pontchartrain, Deanie’s Seafood is the home of the oldest seafood market still in operation in New Orleans. Restaurant service was added by John and Alma (Deanie) Livacari in 1961.

FRANK CHIFICI

Frank was born in New Orleans and attended the Cordon Blue Culinary School in Paris. Frank and his wife Barbara opened several successful restaurants with the mentorship of Warren Leruth, an internationally renowned New Orleans chef and restauranteur. Frank and Barbara Chifici purchased Deanie’s in 1982. Sadly, Frank passed away in 1984.

BARBARA CHIFICI

Raised by an extended family of Sicilian farmers, food purveyors, cooks, and restauranteurs, the food business was in Barbara’s blood. After Frank passed, she raised her seven children with grit, grace, and smarts – growing Deanie’s. With her kids in 2001, she realized her dream to open a French Quarter restaurant. Over the years, Barbara supported many charitable organizations and her church, established the Bucktown Philanthropic Foundation, and created Bucktown’s Annual Pinchapalooza Music and Crawfish Festival and a French Quarter Holiday Kid’s Show.

FAMILY LEGACY

Mrs. Barbara passed away in 2021. Her love and commitment to New Orleans and her family continues, benefiting local charities for children, Louisiana culture, and our environment.

Over the years, Deanie’s Seafood has been featured on numerous national cable television restaurant/cooking shows and frequently voted best seafood restaurant in New Orleans.

With New Orleans locations in Bucktown, French Quarter and Garden District, the Chifici Family is committed to honoring their parents’ legacy with gratitude and love.
